I have started a new venture!

I am selling remastered Turkish rugs that are just stunning! (If I do say so myself) The patchwork rugs have been overdyed and made by sewing patches from different rugs together to create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts!  The rugs are of the highest quality and no matter what your furniture or interior style, there is a rug that will bring warmth to your space. Check out our recently launched website at patchyrugs.com.au

Patchyrugs are also being stocked in Modern Times Pop-Up shop ( 260 Smith St, Collingwood ) from 9 December! Come down and see them for yourself!

Our wedding was recently featured on 100 Layer Cake! I have picked out some of my favourite images from our special day. Be sure to also check out our photographer, Adrian Tuazon. All designers are tough on themselves but I am happy to say I am still in love with these letterpress invites I designed (and still in love with my hubby 1 year later!) For a taste of some other invitations I have created, visit www.ilovelollies.net

Robert Baines, Professor of Post Graduate Studies, Gold and Silversmithing, at RMIT is one of the leaders in contemporary jewellery. He has recently had a retrospective exhibition at Glen Eira City Council Gallery which includes his wirework sculptures and his well known take on historical jewellery where he blends contemporary elements with ancient techniques.

He also has a new body of work being showcased at Pieces of Eight. The exhibition runs till Nov 12, 2011. I was lucky enough to hear Baines talk about his ‘Frisches Fleisch – Fresh Meat‘ exhibition at Pieces of Eight. This exhibition comments on the endangerment of the original idea and plagiarism in contemporary jewellery. He visualizes this by using the Rothschild Red Giraffe, which is an endangered species.
